Word Inserting SmartArt

SmartArt is a way to show graphics for lists, processes, matrix, relationship, pyramid and other visuals. For example, if you want to show the "Food Pyramid," SmartArt is one way to do this. Inserting SmartArt into Word is one area where sighted help is advised. You will need to know if what you have put in, is where it should be, if the size is too large or small, and even if there is a good color scheme. If you are using a screen reader, and cannot at all see the computer screen, you can insert SmartArt, and put in text. Word treats SmartArt as an embedded object. On a web page the letter o for many screen readers moves to an embedded object. Following is a simple sequence of steps for adding "Smart Art" to a Word document. If you need to go back and edit, or make size changes, you will probably need sighted assistance. Most screen readers only say "embedded object" when you go back to edit. . When you are finished move to the link at the bottom of this page titled "BACK" to go to the "Word Processor Lessons" web page.
